The ideal spice blend for slow-cooked or braised dishes with lamb, young goat, chicken or pork, Zanzibar Island Spice combines salt, sesame seed, fennel, coriander, black pepper, anise, cinnamon, ginger, clove, garlic, onion and star anise. Rub onto meat coated with a little oil and leave to marinade for an hour or two before grilling, or dry fry a generous grinding before adding to couscous with slivers of almond and dried apricots. Presented with beautifully adorned packaging that tells how the spice blend was inspired. Fresh flavor is released with every twist of the grinder! 

This fair trade spice was developed over the course of a decade by a culinary-minded traveler who recorded his experiences with food in Africa. Today, the spices are grown and packaged in South Africa, with a proceed going to the Fair Trade Trust for the education of the workers.
